Privacy Policy
Last updated June 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Assistance Discord bot, dashboard, and related services (collectively, the "Service") collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
Assistance only stores the data needed to provide its features. This includes:
- Discord account data: your Discord user ID, username, global display name, and avatar. If you sign in to the dashboard, we also store OAuth access and refresh tokens so we can act on your behalf within the scopes you grant.
- Server data: the server (guild) ID, name, icon, and the configuration you set, such as log and alert channels, dashboard role permissions, and feature settings.
- Ticket data: tickets you create or participate in, including their content and message transcripts, who created or claimed them, added participants, status, and any feedback ratings or comments you submit.
- Library and command data: templates, custom commands, files, and other content you create through the Service.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and provide the features of the Service.
- Authenticate you on the dashboard and perform actions you request.
- Maintain server configuration, tickets, and content across sessions.
- Diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the reliability of the Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Data sharing
We do not share your information with third parties except as needed to run the Service (for example, our hosting and database providers) or where required by law. Content you create within a server — such as tickets and transcripts — may be visible to that server's administrators and authorized support staff.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as it is needed to provide the Service. When Assistance is removed from a server, or when you request deletion, we delete or anonymize the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including restricting access to authentication tokens and stored data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- You can remove Assistance from a server at any time to stop further data collection for that server.
- You can revoke the dashboard's access to your Discord account in your Discord Authorized Apps settings.
- You can request access to, or deletion of, the data we hold about you by contacting us through our support server.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required to use Discord in your country. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone below that age.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to exercise your data rights, reach out to us through our support server. See our Terms of Service for the terms governing the Service.
